Supporting youth sports in Berlin
VfL Lichtenrade 1894 e.V. - new jerseys for the youth handball team
VfL Lichtenrade is a long-established club that is deeply rooted in the Lichtenrade district. The club members and their families, fans and visitors live in the immediate vicinity of the "Volksparkviertel", many of them are tenants of GSW Immobilien AG.
With national titles under its belt, VfL Lichtenrade has earned a good reputation in the south of Berlin, both for its adult sporting achievements and for its youth work with handball. Out of a total of 420 handball players, 190 are children and young people. Participation in sport allows them to learn, experience and practice the values of dependability, flexibility, ambition, team spirit and solidarity.
GSW Immobilien AG is proud to support the common bond with the environment, the identification with the values outlined and the reality that these children and youths of today will become the responsible and value-conscious adults of tomorrow. As a result, the boys of the B-youth team and the girls of the D-youth team will in future play in new GSW jerseys.
Türkiyemspor e.V. 1978 - new jerseys for the girls' soccer team
Türkiyemspor is a Berlin club with Turkish roots. It was founded in 1978 as the "Kreuzberger Junge Union", a loose association of Turkish migrant players. The club's entry into the Berlin amateur league in 1978 was professionalised as BFC Izmirspor. Today, Türkiyemspor is an established club on the Berlin soccer scene.
For many members, Türkiyemspor is their social home and their chosen field of sporting activity. The club's guiding principle is the equal treatment and encouragement of players from all backgrounds, irrespective of language, religious beliefs, gender and sexual orientation. The club has also initiated various programmes aimed at curbing violence.
The development of girl's football is a key priority for Türkiyemspor. The focus here is on enjoying the game and on teaching technical as well as tactical skills. GSW supports this integration project - a "flagship initiative" for the multicultural district of Kreuzberg - with social responsibility for Berlin and "shows its true colours" - the girls of Türkiyemspor will play in bright orange GSW jerseys this season.
