Districts and Neighbourhoods
Cooperation with neighbourhood and district centres and initiatives represents yet another focus of GSW's commitment to the city districts. GSW supports the leisure activities for children and young people offered by these facilities.
Examples include the "Gemischtes" youth and cultural centre in Spandau, the district centre in Steglitz as well as the "Outreach" project, which supports youth integration in the "Thermometersiedlung" and in Woltmannweg.
GSW continues to support the "Community Organising Wedding" initiative founded by university professor Dr. Leo Penta. The initiative creates a platform on which various interest groups in Wedding can formulate key shared objectives and projects that set out to positively support the development process of Wedding and establish a single voice with regard to political and administrative issues.
For numerous other initiatives, GSW provides premises free of charge and pays for part of the staff costs.
