Zoo School
GSW with an exemplary school. Education is important. And one of Berlin's most unusual education facilities proves that education can be great fun.
Since 11 May 2005, the Zoo School in the Berlin Zoo is open again. It offers schoolchildren an exciting way of experiencing the sometimes rather dry theory of the biology lesson "up close and personal".
The reopening of the Zoo School is based on the commitment by GSW, which funds the school project, thus facilitating the teaching.
That GSW took the right decision in supporting the project is borne out by the huge response to the reopening. School classes of all years use the teaching programme, and look forward greatly to their biology lessons.
Berlin: One city - two zoos - one supporting society!
Given its status as the capital's zoo spread across various locations, the Berlin Zoo, the aquarium and Berlin Tierpark have set themselves the task of carrying out and promoting animal breeding, animal and species protection, research and education with the aim of preserving biodiversity.
Providing support for this work is the primary task of the support association for Tierpark Berlin und Zoo Berlin e. V.
In the support association for the capital's zoos, the friends of the Tierpark and Berlin Zoo are involved in a voluntary capacity and therefore actively support the development of both the Tierpark and the zoo.
In addition to its commitment to the Berlin Zoo, GSW Immobilien AG assists the support association and was welcomed by the association of friends of Tierpark Berlin und Zoo Berlin e.V. as the 1,200th member.
The GSW Club and the support association also cooperate with one another. Members of the support association can join the GSW Club and profit from the numerous benefits they enjoy there.
